ABOUT AI x HK OpenCup 2022

The AI x HK OpenCup 2022 invites young talents to address real-world problems with innovative minds, AI technologies, and competitive collaborations. Participants will work in teams to build creative solutions for the betterment of community and a sustainable living. It is also one of series events in celebration of Prof. Anil Jain’s Honorary Doctorate Degree conferred by Hong Kong Baptist University.

The OpenCup focuses on four Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations. Participants are expected to ideate innovative AI solutions for addressing one of these challenges in the Hong Kong context, with the objective to make positive social impact and promote sustainability.

Hong Kong Baptist University has been organising the Global Design for Sustainability since 2012. More than 500 global young talents from 30+ countries/regions have developed 100+ impactful innovative projects. In collaboration with Hong Kong Society of Artificial Intelligence & Robotics (HKSAIR), we are looking forward to recruiting more young innovators to join this network!

CALL FOR INNOVATORS

Students from secondary schools and tertiary (post-secondary) institutions are welcome to enrol as a team. The awards will be divided in two categories:

  • Secondary Students Category
  • Tertiary Students Category

    Deliverable (in English):
    A one-page proposal including problem statement and brief idea
    (please refer to the email for submission link.)
  • Submission of Project for Shortlisting 4 Nov 2022
    Deliverables (in English):
    A 3-min video in MPEG4 format
    An A3 size poster in JPEG format
    A team group photo
    A project summary in Word format (max 100 words)
    Other materials (e.g. prototype, code) (Optional)
  • Final Pitch 19 Nov 2022
